Emilio had to stop and think about the question seriously. He had been worrying a lot about his planet, but he soon realized that Tuor was right. He would do the best he can for Earth. But the real priority was in his family. He was not the only talent in the planet and a whole planet was too much of a responsibility to take on his own.

  “I get it. Other people will take care of the planet too. After all, there are people who are performing better than me in the Trials.”

  “Allow me to disagree with that, given your Stats you should actually be the best on the planet without considering your niece. Even if you do not earn any Stats in the next Trial you would still be in the top ten. And I honestly don’t think that would be the case.”

  Emilio was surprised by the information and was forced to change his perspective to consider both Amelia and him as the real peak of the planet. That also gave them extra responsibilities, but after thinking for a bit he solidified his resolve.

  He would help if he could, but in this new world everyone had the same starting point. His priority was his family and not a bunch of strangers. He was going to help whoever he can, as he was no monster. But that was the limit of what he would do.

  “This should be even better for our deals, right? But my personal priority is still my family.”

  “Great, then the very first thing you need is the Rank Up information. You might be reaching your peak at the next Trial and will need to know how to keep growing. After that, there is something I would recommend, but it is a little bit of a risk.”

  “What is it, and why is it a risk?”

  “The thing is that it makes no sense that the System presented this as a Reward, and even less sense the price it has. I believe it has to do with your treasure hunt. If this is true it might be a huge boost in the short term for you.”

  “I get it. Please explain what it is, and why it is that you reached this conclusion.”

  “It is a one time Skill, which is something weird in itself. It costs 60 Coins and it is a Beast Companion Skill. These kinds of Skills make a companion out of a beast you defeated, it has to admit defeat and be willing to be reborn as your Companion.

  “This companion will be limited to your Rank and will have to grow in power. It is usually limited to its original talent and you would have to invest a lot to raise them beyond their original limits. This kind of Skill is usually used in cubs who have good prospects of reaching high Ranks.”

  “It does not seem very interesting so far. I would get a Rank 1 beast companion and will need to invest a lot to make it powerful.”

  “Exactly, and that is not worth 60 Coins at all. The System may raise the price of something because you are isolated, but never offer something this useless. There is also another thing that makes me suspect the real reason for this Skill. It has some weird terms inside. It says that the Beast will be reborn with a Bloodline of its own Rank. This is wired on itself but it also says that the Bloodline will raise in by one Rank for every extra Rank the beast has above the one who uses it.”

  “So, if I defeat a Rank 2, it will have a Rank 3 Bloodline?”

  “Exactly, this description makes me think that you will have to fight higher Ranks that are restricted during the treasure hunt.”

  “In that case, between Ami and me we will be able to defeat a Rank 2 or even higher. Getting that companion will really matter that can grow by itself without investing.”

  “Exactly, and we should be able to reach Earth before Rank 3 is something normal. That means that it will serve as the best chance for your family to be safe.”

  “Do we have a timeline for that? You haven’t told me yet.”

  “It should be between one and five years. In that timeframe, you should be able to take control of your planet or the invasion is going to start, or in our case you will be annexed to my clan.”

  “It is good to have a timeline. I have a few more things to talk about, but first I should make a decision on this subject. I think I will take the risk

  “Ami is a real talent, and my sister is performing quite well. I think the better choice is to take the risk.”

  Even if Emilio made his decision, he left something unsaid. There was something else that made him choose and that was that he had a really good feeling about the Skill. He didn’t really know why but he believed it was the right choice to pick it up.

  “Thank you for trusting me. You would still have 20 Coins left. I would recommend you to buy two bottles of healing pills. They will really save you in a pinch and will work your whole life.”

  “Can I use them on someone else?”

  “Yes, as long as you are of the same or higher Rank they should work.”

  “Then they will work for me, but I have a problem with this plan.”

  “Tell me.”

  “I will not be able to tip you.” Emilio said seriously.

  “Just stop it. We already have a business plan together and you are constantly bringing me gifts,” Tuor shut him up, making Emilio sigh.

  “Then give me the Skill, the Rank Up information and one bottle of pills. I have to have some leftovers to be able to call you next time.”
