Chapter 31: The Arrival of Irfanos, the Celestial Panther
Location: Outer Courtyard of the Vampire Palace – Northern Border
Time: Late night, a blood-red moon hung ominously in the sky
The thunder of battle echoed across the vampire territory. Five Dark Beasts tore through the defensive lines, flames of violet and dark energy scattering across the courtyard. Vampire and werewolf guards fell—some charred, others torn apart by the savage claws of the shadow Cerberi.
Fran, Zoarfang, and Aisha readied themselves to jump in—but Shinin moved first, leaping off the rooftop tower, a greenish-yellow aura flaring behind him.
Shinin (shouting):
“Stop! I’ll handle them!”
But Lysa blocked him, standing firm, hands pressed against his chest.
Lysa:
“Wait… something else is happening.”
A tense silence fell over the battlefield.
The Panther Appears
Through the billowing smoke and dust of the skirmish, a tall, broad figure emerged. His skin was a flawless deep bronze, hair short and silver under the moonlight. Two lifeless dark Cerberi hung limp from his hands; their red eyes dimmed, their bodies broken.
With a calm motion, he tossed the carcasses to the ground, and behind him, black claw marks—panther-like—faded into the night.
His voice cut through the chaos, cold and measured:
Irfanos:
“Shinin… I finally found you.”
Reactions
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Shinin (staggered, defensive):
“Who… are you?!”
Aisha (whispering):
“He just killed two Cerberi like they were rags…”
Lysa (softly, yet firmly):
“That… is Irfanos.”
Fran:
“Irfanos? That name… sounds familiar…”
Lysa:
“Irfanos Dianthros… child of one of the main guardians from Diana’s bloodline. He was Zedwan’s top disciple, and…”
She glanced at Shinin, continuing with weight:
“…he is your protector, Shinin. Chosen by the heavens to watch over you since your birth.”
Dialogue
Shinin (still confused):
“Why… now? Why show up only now?”
Irfanos (stepping closer, eyes locked on Shinin):
“Because now… the real danger begins. I’ve watched over you from the shadows for years. But now they know you exist… and I will not let you fight alone.”
Zoarfang (whispering):
“He’s got a dragon’s aura… but in a panther’s body.”
Ritz:
“And he’s insanely cool.”
Irfanos’ Style
Irfanos’ armor blended classical Roman designs with celestial tribal motifs—his chest plate stained with the blood of beasts, a starry blue sash from Diana tied across his left shoulder. A unique weapon hung at his back, a fusion of spear and lunar bow, reserved only for Celestial Warriors.
He approached Shinin, placing a steady hand on his shoulder.
Irfanos:
“You have many questions. I have all the answers. But if the enemy strikes again tonight, we won’t have the time to ask them.”
Shinin:
“…You were my father’s student?”
Irfanos:
“A student… and the last witness to Zedwan’s sacrifice.”
Closing the Scene
Lysa ordered the group to rest and prepare for further attacks. Irfanos was escorted to a special meeting chamber. That night, Shinin sat facing his cousin, and the true story began to unravel—Zedwan’s legacy, Shinin’s bloodline, and the ancient pact between the Zawrath clan and the goddess Diana.
