Chapter 35 - Hyper Training of the Wineapple Sect I

Morning light spilled over the Wineapple Sect courtyard, illuminating broken tiles, half-finished walls, and scattered barrels of wineapple juice. Birds chirped, oblivious to the extraordinary events that had unfolded just hours ago.

Zhi Yuan stood in the center of the courtyard, arms folded calmly, eyes fixed on the five elemental spirits now observing the cultivators with amused interest.

“Balance,” Huanglong said, his golden scales gleaming as he circled Zhi Yuan, “is not simply law and order. A sect must endure chaos, or it stagnates. This mountain has slumbered for centuries. Now, these mortals—may either destroy or awaken it.”

Zhi Yuan inclined his head, voice measured. “My understanding of Heaven’s rules is… unconventional. Yet I still don’t know the reason for all your appearance.”

Huanglong’s eyes gleamed. “Reincarnation… magic unknown to Dao… intriguing. And yet, you nurture them in your chaos. I do not question your methods… but the mountain listens. It sees.”

Zhi Yuan gestured to the courtyard, littered with the aftermath of yesterday’s trials and Lin Fan’s golden-core. “They are ready, I think. If not for chaos, at least for… opportunity.”

Azure Dragon let out a soft hiccup, her green hair tumbling as she watched Lin Fan, who nervously tugged at his sleeves. “Opportunity, you say? Oh! I see him! My little wood sprout! He needs… mothering!”

“Mothering?” Lin Fan calm expression change, a faint twitch at the corner of his eye betrayed him.

“Yes!” Azure Dragon bounced slightly on the balls of her feet. “Proper herbs, proper training. He must grow strong. Properly nurtured.”

White Tiger chuckled, pacing around Feng. “And you, young metal cultivator, will be tested. Your awareness, your stealth… you’ll laugh at your past self by the end of this.”

  Feng’s eyes widened. “I wasn’t ready for this! I mean—wait—what?!”

Vermilion Bird’s flames swirled gracefully around Li Wei. “Your fire technique… showed promise, but promise is not power. You must exceed your limits.”

Li Wei’s eyes softened unconsciously as he glanced at her, heat rising in both his dantian and his heart. Internally, he whispered: She is Beautiful

The Black Tortoise of the North, calm as flowing water, observed Ru Yan. “You wish to strengthen yourself, yes?”

Ru Yan nodded. “I… am willing. If my body, my element, can grow stronger, I shall do so. Even if… chaos ensues.”

The courtyard went quiet, each disciple sensing the immense presence of these primordial spirits. Lin Fan fidgeted, wishing he could hide behind Zhi Yuan—who was already giggling at his struggles.

Huanglong finally spoke, his golden voice resonant and theatrical: “Very well. Let the hyper training begin. Each of you will be taken to a chamber designed for your elemental refinement. Time flows differently within. Days may pass in minutes… or centuries in hours. Are you prepared?”

Lin Fan squeaked. “Wait—what?! Centuries in hours? That… sounds like homework!”

Azure Dragon swooped in, lifting him effortlessly into her arms. “Shh, little wood sprout. I’ll keep you safe. You just grow, grow, grow!”

Li Wei’s gaze followed Vermilion Bird as she extended a hand toward him. Flames licked the courtyard floor, forming a swirling vortex. “Master… I…” His voice faltered. Internally, I must not fail her… she is Beautiful.

White Tiger clapped his hands together, smirking at Feng. “You’re coming with me, metal brat! Let’s see if that steel qi is as sharp as your tongue!”

Feng groaned. “I do not consent! Wait—help! Someone!”

Black Tortoise’s eyes softened toward Ru Yan. “Your willingness is noted. The water obeys you, even now. Let it flow through you. We will strengthen your bond.”

The spirits converged on their respective disciples: Azure Dragon enveloped Lin Fan in a crushing hug, Vermilion Bird drew Li Wei into a vortex of fire, White Tiger yanked Feng by the collar while dragging him across the courtyard, and Black Tortoise guided Ru Yan gracefully toward a rippling portal of water.

The courtyard erupted in chaos: Lin Fan’s muffled cries, Feng’s yells of protest, Li Wei’s quiet, devoted resolve, and Ru Yan’s calm but slightly nervous acceptance.

Huanglong observed silently, arms folded. “Balance, chaos, devotion, will… all these threads shall be tested. Let them awaken.”

The courtyard erupted into chaos as the spirits began to “deliver” their disciples into hyper-training chambers nested deep within the mountain.

Azure Dragon clutched Lin Fan like a prized sapling, lifting him high above the courtyard. His legs flailed, arms pinned to his sides. “W-Wait! I’m not a plant! Put me down!”

“I’m not putting you down!” she cooed, laughing, her chest pressed firmly against him. “You need nurturing! Growth! Proper wood cultivation!” “I… can’t… breathe! Help! Someone! Zhi Yuan!”

Zhi Yuan calmly crossed his arms, unbothered by the struggle. “This is… part of the process, Lin Fan.”

Lin Fan was held aloft by Azure Dragon, squealing as she carried him through a green vortex of wood qi. The forest outside the courtyard seemed to blur into streaks of color. “I… I can’t! I… I’m too young!” He flailed in the dragon’s arms.

White Tiger grinned, his claws gripping Feng’s collar as he dragged him across the uneven courtyard like a mischievous uncle hauling a reluctant nephew. “Faster! Move your metal qi! This isn’t a stroll in the park!”

“Help! Someone stop him!” Feng shouted, sliding across the ground and skidding into a pile of tiles. Dust and pebbles flew in every direction.

Feng was dragged through a narrow tunnel by White Tiger, skidding and sliding, kicking up dust. “I did not consent to this! Someone, please—”

Vermilion Bird focused on Li Wei. Her swirling flames formed a vortex that enveloped him gently but firmly. “Your technique must refine to Golden Core mastery, or you will never command fire fully.”

Li Wei’s eyes softened. Every glance at her made his pulse thrum hotter than the flames themselves. I will do anything for her. Anything. His hands clenched instinctively as heat coursed through his body. The flames seemed to respond to his devotion, flickering in sync with his heartbeat.

Li Wei floated within a ring of fire, flames licking around him without causing harm. His eyes were wide but calm. For her… for Vermilion Bird… I will endure.

Black Tortoise guided Ru Yan with calm authority toward a portal of water that shimmered with iridescent ripples. “Flow becomes strength. Your body, your element, must harmonize.”

Ru Yan’s expression was unusually calm. “…I accept. If the mountain has chosen me, I will not falter.” She glanced at Lin Fan being squashed by Azure Dragon and Feng sliding across the ground. “…Though I might laugh if disaster strikes.”

Ru Yan stepped willingly into the water portal. The mist rose, curling around her as if the element itself recognized her authority. “So… water obeys me,” she murmured, raising her hands and shaping the currents. Her robes clung as they swirled with the water qi. Her body grew subtly, her presence more commanding.

Within the mountain, time and space warped inside their respective chambers.

Azure Dragon Chamber: A forest of pulsing green qi, vines that moved like serpents, and gravity that shifted with every step. Lin Fan was forced to dodge, leap, and channel wood qi through his tiny body to survive. Every mistake caused the dragon to scold, poke, or pinch him. “Wood needs discipline!” she yelled, laughing as Lin Fan almost fell into a pit of glowing roots.

Lin Fan attempted a wood-core refinement, overchanneling qi and creating tiny explosions. Azure Dragon screamed and flailed, trying to contain the blast, which almost set part of the chamber on fire. “Careful! You’re not ready!”.

The boy spun in wood-element maelstroms, dodging bursting logs, falling beams, and occasional explosions that singed the training chamber. Azure Dragon’s mothering hands guided, restrained, and occasionally smothered him. Every successful maneuver earned a giggle or hug. Every failure was met with gentle scolding.

“Your dantian needs proper alignment! Roots! You are a Golden Core, but Golden Core still need love!” she declared, pressing him against her chest once again. Lin Fan muttered, “I am not a plant… or a child… or anything… ahhh!”

Vermilion Bird Chamber: A fiery landscape, with rivers of molten qi and embers floating like stars. Li Wei’s fire skill was tested against walls of flame and unpredictable currents. Each time he faltered, Vermilion Bird’s flames corrected him, refining the control over his Golden Core technique. Li Wei’s admiration—and secret devotion—made him extra attentive.

Every correction from Vermilion Bird caused Li Wei’s heart to race. He whispered internally, Yes… yes, master, I understand… anything for you. His flames danced in sync with his emotions. Li wei has turn into a total simp.

Flames roared around him as Vermilion Bird tested the boundaries of his fire qi. Precision drills, endurance tests, and the occasional “accidental burn” became daily routine.

Internally, Li Wei’s heart skipped at every glance, every subtle praise. “Yes… master… I will…” he muttered under his breath as flames danced obediently to her commands, yet whenever she turned away, his inner monologue sighed, “Anything for you Master.”

White Tiger Chamber: A dark labyrinth layered with illusions, traps, and moving walls. Feng’s stealth and perception were pushed to the limit. White Tiger prowled behind him, laughing and occasionally nudging him into danger just to see his reactions. “Awareness! Awareness! You must anticipate!”

He tried hiding from White Tiger, only to be dragged backward into a trap, emerging with soot on his face and scorched robes. “I… I’m learning stealth!” he protested.

Feng learned stealth, tracking, and assassination techniques, each drill more punishing than the last. White Tiger’s hands were everywhere, dragging, tossing, or pinning Feng for corrections.

“Awareness! Metal qi! You think you’re invisible, but you’re screaming like a tavern bard!” White Tiger bellowed.

Feng crawled through tight spaces, scaled walls, and dodged elemental traps while muttering curses. Every slip earned laughter from the tiger.

Black Tortoise Chamber: A fluid, serene expanse of water, with currents that reshaped themselves according to Ru Yan’s movements. Each step and motion required precise coordination. As she directed the water, her body responded: strength, fluidity, and presence increased. Her chest subtly expanded, earning a brief smirk from the invisible snake lurking in the chamber.

Ru Yan’s training was calm, precise, and mentally taxing. Water qi flowed from her fingertips like silk, bending naturally to her intent. Black Tortoise guided, corrected, and occasionally teased, though not cruelly.

As she moved, water qi formed exaggerated currents that accentuated her figure. She grinned, realizing she could now rival even that maternal dragon in presence.

After what felt like days compressed into hours, the disciples emerged from the chambers:

The training chambers dissolved, and one by one, the disciples emerged. Each of them shines with the radiance of a golden core cultivator.

Lin Fan looked older, calmer—but his chaotic tendencies remained, evidenced by a singed patch of courtyard grass.

Lin Fan: “I might still be a child, but at least I can nearly control my explosions…”

Li Wei’s flames flickered precisely in his palm as he bowed slightly to the Vermilion Bird, devotion plain to see. By the end of the training, his power had grown to fully controlled Golden Core fire, each movement disciplined and elegant, though the running joke of his simp devotion continued unabated.

Li Wei: “Master’s gaze… worth every burn.”

Feng’s black robe blended perfectly with the shadows, eyes alert, a silent predator. By the end, he had attained Golden Core-level stealth, his black robe now blending perfectly with the shadows—a living shadow ninja.

Feng: “I can vanish… but never forget the tiger’s grip.”

Ru Yan’s water qi swirled gently around her, flowing obediently as she walked, and her newfound curves drew a few double-takes. Azure Dragon winked, clearly approving.

Ru Yan: “Water bends, and so do I, as a Golden Core Cultivator… stronger than ever.”

The courtyard was alive with energy, laughter, and a faint aroma of singed wood, metal, and wineapple.

Zhi Yuan observed silently, hands behind his back, a faint smile on his lips. The Five Elements Mountain had begun to awaken fully within his friends—and the chaos of the Wineapple Sect was now properly… structured.
