I watched Alia try on her fourteenth dress, frown. Then take it off. We had been at this for over three hours and I was about to burn the place down. “What do you think? Pink or Yellow?” She asked as she held a red dress and a green dress.
I screamed internally before sighing. “Look, does it really matter which dress you wear? No one is gonna really see it or care except me. Just throw something on!”
Her glare spoke and I just sighed. “The pink one is nice, but honestly, I prefer the blue one.” She brightened instantly and grabbed a dark blue dress and a light blue dress. I walked over and hit my head against the wall.
After another hour, and way too many shades of blue. She landed on Sapphire blue. The same color Princess Sapphire wore. Without the stupid charm effect.. I hoped.
“Alright, dressed down. I got my jeans and t-shirt, Let’s try and find..” I tried to say but was cut off.
“Umm.. what happened to your hero clothes?” She asked with a confused look in her eyes. I winced and shook my head before just clicking on the underwear tab. You would think there would be no chafing in this world. You would be wrong.. So very wrong.
“Hello? Why are you ignoring me!” She snapped. I smiled and pushed my legs together a little more. She had gotten far more lively and I just..
“ANSWER ME” She suddenly screamed, causing me to turn and look at her in shock.
Her cheeks flushed red and she looked away. Quietly, she said “I just.. really want to know.” She put her hands together in front of her dress and swayed back and forth. While it didn’t have Sapphire's charm on it. It was doing things to me I didn't want to admit.
“Look, it's a long story, but I got it from a side quest and kept it because it was attached to me and didn’t disappear when I respawned.” I answered matter of factly as I blindly swiped through the thousands of different types of underwear. All styles, colors, and sizes. Despite every size matching.
“What quest was it?” She asked innocently. I turned to look at her and she was casually looking around the small toybox shop and acting non-chalant. It was so obvious she wanted to know. But why did it matter?
I sighed audibly and chose blue boxers and some regular white socks. I felt as they were put on and sighed in relief. No more chafing! Turning to Alia fully I answered “If you must know, there is a side quest in this Kingdom. Something about ‘A Tailor's Dilemma” or something. I gather some plants for her outside town, fight some mobs, and the clothes are a reward.”
She seemed to consider that before asking. “What are mobs? How tough are they?” She seemingly leaned towards me and I thought I saw desire in her eyes.
“Nothing major.” I said carefully as I watched her. “Just a few of the Young Giant Spiders and some flowers.” I saw her begin to smile and felt like I had just made her day.
Before I could question her, she asked another question. “You said the Tailor Quest is in this Kingdom? Can you show me where?” She summoned her bubble pistol and twirled it smartly. “I wanna try!”
I snorted at that and shook my head. “Sure, go get yourself killed while I do the main quest. Just know you will probably respawn next to me when you die.” I made a point to look at her and wiggle my eyebrows knowingly.
She giggled and stepped forward. “I can do it!” She looked serious despite the giggle and smile. I considered for a moment before shrugging. She wanted to go get herself killed, why did I care?
“Sure, let’s go, I’ll drop you off at the quest giver and head off with Princess Ruby to finish act 1.” The moment I mentioned Princess Ruby, Alia looked very angry.
“Why? Can't you just go with me? We can do the main quest together later. I might need your help!” She stared at me angrily and I stepped back in surprise at the hostility.

“I.. I mean.. We can do that quest first if you want. I just.. I didn't see it as necessary from some clothing I don’t need yet.” Well, that and I didn’t care for the clothes themselves. They weren't exactly comfortable.
She considered for a moment then smiled and nodded. “Let’s go then!” She rushed over to the exit and tapped it, vanishing outside.
I quickly pulled up the women's lingerie and picked underwear for her. A bra and panties. Technically, I didn’t need to.. But I picked chain ones for her. I had a feeling she would like them. I stuffed them into my inventory and rushed out after her.
I appeared outside the door and looked around. Alia was already down the street and pointing at a building with a sign overhead that read Clearly it had not taken her long to find the shop.
She rushed up to it and tapped on the door. A moment later she disappeared into the shop. I began walking only to receive a notification. I frowned and opened the notification before sighing.
I continued down the street and reached the building right as Alia popped back out excitedly. She grabbed my hand without a word and tapped the door. Dragging us both inside.
The old lady in the shop took one look at me and said “It’s the Hero! Please Hero! I have a request. I have been…” She ranted on and on about the deadly giant spiders, how she hasn’t been able to gather her supplies. Then asking me, some random dude to go and do it because of the title I possess.
Alia hummed to herself while staring at me with glee. I glanced over at her before sighing and nodding to the old lady. I got the notification. I ignored it since I knew what it said.
“Yay! Now we have matching quests!” Alia said excitedly. She grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the tailor shopping and down the road. I could have resisted. But, I didn't really want to. It felt nice in a way I couldn’t explain.
We reached the town square and instantly noticed something was very wrong. For starters, the entire square was flooded with water and the people were floating around.
Stunned, I looked around in shock. “What.. What is happening?!” Alia cried out as she too stared at the carnage.
“I don’t know… I think maybe.. Um..” I racked my brain, but this had never happened before. My eyes shifted to look at Alia. She had never happened before either. I frowned as I considered the implications.
Before I could finish, a wave of water hit us. I hadn’t even seen it form and was not prepared. We were flooded against a building. Luckily the buildings were plastic and held in place. Unluckily, that meant that I was being crushed by water. There was only one being I knew that could make this much water.
But first, I had to get us out of here. I grabbed Alia’s arm, she managed to barely glance over at me. Terror had filled her eyes and she looked like she was panicking. I activated my gravity skill and we were in the air. Luckily the water had not reached house level and I landed us on the house.
By that I mean I moved us slightly over the house then deactivated the skill. Alia caught me as I almost fell off from landing too hard on the roof. Looking down, the entire square was flooded still, and it had risen a few feet. It would not be long until the entire place was just underwater.
. That had to be it. But why? Why would she flood her own kingdom? What was going on?! “We need to reach the castle.” I said aloud as I looked at Alia.
She glared at me. “Why? You want to spend time with Ruby don’t you?!” Her eye twitched and I shook my head.
“No, we need to reach Princess Sapphire. She has to be the reason the town square is flooding.” I explained.
Alia looked unconvinced. “Oh, so now we are seeing princess. What about my quest!” She stepped forward and looked me in the eyes. She looked like she was trying to stay strong but about to cry.
I sighed. “No, we.. I..” I tried to think of how to explain. In the end, I decided to lie. “We are Player’s Alia, it's our job to fix problems. Right now the kingdom is in trouble and we need to find out why.”
He was lying. It was so obvious he was lying. He had not once the entire time I had known him willingly helped anyone or fixed any problems. As Alissa, I had thought he had. But having had time to go over those memories. He had done none of it.
In fact, he had done nothing, period. I fought my own dad after he tricked me. I set up the wedding. I brought all the guests and did all the fighting. Now he claims because we are players we have to help? I still didn’t understand a lot. But I knew that was a lie.
However, there was another piece to this puzzle. Something that happened before he had killed me. That water sphere. That had been Sapphire. I wasn’t positive, I couldn’t be. My memories of that time are.. Strange. Like.. Why was I trying to christen a marriage? It made sense at the time but…
I shook my head and looked back at the castle. I wanted my quest, I would have my quest. But… Even if he was lying. I wanted to check on Sapphire. Maybe… maybe I would get some payback while I was there.
