The students and Tim all walk out to find their teacher, Mr. Smite. As they exit the building he waves at them and smiles.
“I assume the kai banes have been killed?” He asks nicely then looks over at Tim.
“And who is this little kid?”
Tim smiles widely.
“My name is Tim!” He tells the teacher.
“Tim?”
His gaze grows softer at the name.
“That's quite a nice name. I can sense some strong kai from you, about as much as the average A rank. Do you know how to use kai?” Derrick asks him.
“Yeah! I learned about it when I was just 7!” He brags.
“Wow you must be really smart Tim, would you like to join kai academy? I'd have to talk to the principals about the rules of how many students per year but I'm sure they would be happy to make the exception.” Derrick asks him.
“No need Mr. Smite.” Felix says.
“Felix, I told you that you can just refer to me as Derrick.” He tells Felix.
“I would like to withdraw from being a kai user. I think it's too much for me. Something like an assistant would be better suited for me if it's allowed.” Felix continues.
His teacher nods.
“A lot of people can't stomach it. It is a shame though. The principals have been looking for some help around the school, I'll recommend you and take you out of my class.” Derrick says as he turns back towards Tim.
“I think you can join without problems now.”
Tim smiles.
“I'll join! I don't really have a bed though so is there a place for me to sleep there?”
Derrick's eyes slightly widen, barely noticeable even to people who are looking for it.
“Tim…there are dormitories for each student, you'll have a home at kai academy. I promise you that.” Derrick smiles very softly. “Now onto my original question, have all the kai banes been killed?”
Mia speaks for them.
“Felix, Andrew, and I killed 3 of them. Jason and Leo killed 1 but ran into 2 others. They got away.”
“A ratio of 2 to 1 isn't bad. Don't feel bad for a first mission that is good, especially with no proper training. That does remind me. We need to go over some stuff to properly teach you of kai rather than the basics I taught you that even regular people know of. First you guys need dinner. Let's head back to kai academy.” He tells his students.
“You think they will have biscuits and gravy?” Leo asks Jason in a whisper.
“They might, but I wouldn't count on it. I looked up kai academy on my phone while we were on our way to the mission. This place is prestigious and the best in the world. It has created many strong kai users.” Jason replies.

Their teacher leads them to their cafeteria and points them towards 2 women and a man.
“Those are the cooks, they will serve you and create any food you want. Now, my students, go eat.” Mr. Smite tells them.
“What about me sir?” Tim asks politely.
“You will be my student Tim. I guarantee it. Now go eat.” He responds kindly.
Tim grins with glee.
“Yes sir!” He says.
“Don't call me sir, you can just call me Derrick.” He says to Tim with a warm smile, then turns his attention to the rest of the students and talks in a moody voice.
“Meanwhile, I will be talking to the principals,” Then his voice gets lighter.
“About Felix.”
The students and Tim walk towards the staff to get their food. They get in a line with Jason and Leo up first. All of the other students at kai academy are eating already.
“You guys must know more about this school than us, right? What did he mean by any food? How does it work?” Leo asks his classmates.
“The cook staff all have seperate jobs and krafts for it. Pearl can create any food out of kai, Lola can do drinks, and Jimmy is the reason why we don't need to bring plates, bowls, or silverware. You just tell them what they want and they will create it for you.” Mia says in response.
Leo and Jason's eyes grow in response.
“Anything!?” They ask simultaneously.
They grin widely as Mia nods. They reach the staff and Leo speaks first.
“Biscuits and gravy with water as a drink!” Leo tells a black woman with brown eyes and hair. She's about average height wearing brown pants and a blue shirt. She holds up a 1, then a 3, then a 4. A plate, cup, and fork appear in front of her. She then waves her hand over the plate and chopped biscuits and gravy with ground sausage in it. Then she hands the cup over to a white lady with blue eyes, brown hair, a short stature, blue sweatpants and a bright red shirt. She puts her finger over the cup and points into it. Water starts to spew from her finger like a spout. She passes the cup back to Pearl.
“Here's your biscuits and gravy. Enjoy it!” Pearl tells him.
“You guys are new aren't you? You can sit anywhere you want. Also each of you please tell me your names as you order, I like to know each student.”
“I'm Leo!” He replies.
Leo walks to a table with six open seats. All of the third year students are at the table as well. The first years follow Leo and sit next to him after they get their food.
“This is nice! I almost never get warm food, let alone tasting this good!” Tim says as he digs into his burger and fries.
“Why is that? Do your parents not cook you food at home?” Leo asks him.
“I don't have a home, my parents kicked me out at 7 because of money. I had to find my own food. This is really good compared to what I used to have!” Tim responds as he goes in for another bite.
Leo looks disheartened at his response.
“Why did you all become kai users and join?” A third year asks.
“We were bored.” Jason says for both Leo and himself.
“Make my family proud and control kai.” Andrew replies.
“I actually just quit, our teacher is talking to the principals for it right now.” Felix answers.
“I had to and I want everyone to live good lives!” Tim says brightly.
“Jason was right about me, I joined for that at first but after seeing what a kai bane can do…I need to grow stronger to save people.” Leo responds.
Jason smiles.
“Why do you need to know?” Mia questions.
The third year, Pomlh, grins slightly.
“Just some basic evaluation. Answer the question Mia.”
“To grow stronger. More people can't end up dead from kai banes.” She says after some thinking.
“Jason. I like you, however others won't. Andrew. You're going to be fine here. Felix I have absolutely no respect for you. Anyone who quits after 1 mission doesn't deserve to be at kai academy. Tim. You're going to be very strong. So will you Leo. Finally, I like Mia. You will do very well here. Especially with your mindset. That is what I think of each of you. Do whatever you want with that information. Now eat, you need strength to be a good kai user. Oh and Andrew, you don't need to control kai to be a good kai user.” Pomlh tells him as he gets a chill down his spine.
They all think for a second, before Mia speaks up.
“We will all do fine in this field. We don't need your input.”
“Suit yourself.” He replies before chuckling.
The first years finish eating ten minutes after Tim does.
“You devoured that man, you must've been hungry!” Leo states. “I'm glad you enjoyed it.”
“Hey kids!” Their teacher yells out as he walks into the cafeteria.
“Just in time, we just finished.” Leo tells him.
“That's perfect then, it's time to learn in depth about kai.”
Derrick smite has a soft spot for children and thinks that authorities often don't know what they're talking about. He thinks every person has some good in them and wants the next generation to feel the same.
