  Mr. Smite takes his kai away from his fingers then creates a dagger and chops it off.

  He says as the end of where he cut glows purple then sprouts muscles and bones to recreate the finger near instantly. Leo looks at Mr. Smite weird.

  “Do I have to eat a finger?” He asks.

  Mr. Smite looks disappointed.

  “Eat. Swallow it whole.”

  Leo looks a bit disgusted then pops the finger in his mouth and swallows. He gags but keeps it down.

  “So I should be able to use your kai craft now?” He says weakly.

  “Yes you will. Also I don't want to say kai craft it takes too long. Say kraft from now on.”

  Leo looks confused.

  “It's two words?”

  Mr. Smite says it again.

  “Say kraft.”

  Leo sighs and gives in.

  “Craft.”

  “No kraft.”

  “Yeah craft?”

  “No you're saying it wrong. Kkkkrrraaaaffffttt.”

  They go back and forth.

  “Whatever. I have two kai tools and they're for Jason and Andrew. Andrew you get the Swordsburn kai tool which is a katana that burns kai out of anything slashed by it which causes pain and they can't use the kai until they regain it naturally. Jason. You get the Marksman's beauty. It's a gun that can transform into any type of gun and it uses kai to track targets with kai and needs kai to switch the type of gun. The better the gun the more kai needed. Its base form reflects the user.”

  “I believe there are only a few kai banes and each are only a or b rank so be careful. It shouldn't be too hard. Now go get them.”

  The students walk into the abandoned building. The dimly lit building guides them further in.

  “This is eerie.” Leo says.

  “Yeah I don't like this.” Felix responds.

  “I wonder what krafts they're going to have. My kraft must be good to be able to use kai banes. Did you hear me? K-k-kraft.”

  Jason grins as he taunts Leo.

  “Oh be quiet Jason. I pronounced It just fine.”

  Leo replies. Felix, Andrew, and Mia follow a little bit behind them.

  “They seem to be friends If they are so chatty.” She continues.

  Andrew starts to mess with his kai tool while she talks. He spins it around a few times.

  “This is fun. I can see why my family likes them so much.”

  The air in front of them stops them dead in their tracks. Andrew and Felix bump into the air that has seemingly solidified. Mia stopped just before it.

  “One of the kai banes. Be careful Leo and Jason. You two are on your own until we can get back to you.”

  She looks around then heads towards the stairs with Felix and Andrew. Leo and Jason walk on the other side.

  “Where Is the path back to them?” Leo asks Jason.

  “Like I would know.” He responds.

  “Let's just find the kai banes and get out of here. It's creepy.”

  They walk forward, trying to find the kai banes.

  “I wonder what the Marksman's beauty will turn into for me?”

  He grabs it and it glows purple then shifts from a shotgun to a small yet strong pistol. It is made to have accuracy and little to no collateral damage with quick shots. They hear a crawling sound as if a thousand legs are touching the ground at once and it's heading straight for them. A dagger is thrown at the kai tool. It hits the trigger guard in the middle, pushing it through many walls before it gets pinned to one, cracking the wall behind it. A low voice whispers out a sentence.

  “Kai tools are so frivolous in battle. I much prefer using a kai craft.”

  A large centipede with a humanoid face holds three more daggers in the top half of his many limbs.

  “And I quite like mine.”

  The kai bane rushes at them while swinging the daggers in a manic fashion. Leo and Jason jump out of the way.

  “Get the kai tool Jason! We don't have a good way to attack and the wall makes it to where we can't run to the others! It's our best hope!”

  Jason nods and runs over towards the Marksman's beauty. The kai bane throws a dagger towards Jason to reduce his opponents, however it's intercepted by a small knife hitting it from the side and changing its trajectory. The kai bane is now targeting Leo since he is now the main attacker. Jason yells out as the dagger hits the wall next to him.

  “I almost got it.” He says to himself as he grabs the dagger out of the wall to get the Marksman's beauty.

  “Okay I need to make quick work of it if I can but I need to have minimal collateral damage and not attack Leo.”

  Almost as if the kai tool is listening to Jason, it transforms into something that would suit the situation. The pistol splits into two and has a larger magazine of 40 each.

  “Leo! I got it! Now watch out!”

  Leo ducks out of the way to avoid the kai tool. Jason shoots until both magazines are empty. A few bullets are on the right path to hit the kai bane but the others miss. The centipede blocks the bullets with a shield formed from the air.

  “Those could never hit me, I'm too fast!” The kai bane yells out in triumph.

  The missed bullets then redirect to hit the centipede in the back. It screams in pain. Leo creates a giant sword and slices off the kai bane’s head in its pain. The head falls off and clunks on the ground.

  “Absorb it Jason. You'll finally have your kraft.”

  “Hey you pronounced it right finally.”

  Jason jokes as he sticks his hand out and absorbs the kai bane. A purple stream connects to the kai bane, transforming it into kai then going into Jason.

  “So you can summon it now?” Leo asks him.

  “Yeah I should be able to.”

  Jason smiles. They hear a piece of metal clunk into itself further into the building.

  “You think that's the others? Maybe they found a seperate way here?” He asks Jason.

  “Guess we can find out.” He answers as they walk towards the sound.

  Kai banes can be formed from deaths from people with a low amount of kai or control over it, terrible people dying and being reincarnated as a kai bane, people with unfinished business dying, or fear. A person dying with low kai doesn't become too strong of a kai bane, usually B rank or less. The evil people that die tend to be stronger and have more mastery over their kai craft but still the average is A rank. People with unfinished business are usually the weakest except for kai users and manipulators that become kai banes. Fear kai banes are the strongest type of kai bane, the stronger the fear they were manifested from the stronger they get. Fear kai banes can reincarnate and come back, also growing in strength the longer they stay dead.
