A swing of an open palm — and for the briefest moment, a shimmer trails off from its fingers before they drag along the abdomen. A clean cut that drops the receiver onto her knees, her arms wrapping around the open cut to slow the flow of blood. Another stands tall above her, the owner of the swung palm now holding it in a tight fist. She watches the result of her strike while her thumb nervously rubs along the side of her finger, emotion held back by the rush of adrenaline yet to settle. Though senses slowly return, the sound of raindrops hitting the brim of her hat rings in her ears while the wind blows her blonde locks to the side. Her stiffened hands loosen to a tremble as the effects of the adrenaline are instead repced with the weight of reality.
A few blinks of her eyes to reorient her sight, the dimly lit room left in shattered furniture, with both herself and the other woman settled in the middle. The end of a lengthy quarrel, one she stood triumphant in. Though there was little to celebrate, she herself bending a knee before she would pull the injured woman into her arms. Through hastened breaths, her trembling hand seeks to stop the flow of blood, only managing to flow over the other's abdomen aimlessly instead.
"Oh god, oh shit..." She mumbles to herself while the bck haired woman is held in her arms, the visual before her clearly showing it was too te for any meaningful treatment. Though despite it all the bleeding woman meets her gaze, her crimson eyes finding her soon-to-be murderer's azure pair, "You finally did it," a weakened chuckle drags itself out of her lungs, alongside it a small cough of blood that sullies her chin.
"I..." Confused, her words end as soon as they begin. Through a few deep breaths though, the rest of her words are spoken, "I'm... I'm sorry."
The crimson eyed woman smiles, held within the other's grasp. One of her hands raise up, cupping their cheek before a rub of her thumb wipes away a newly formed tear, repcing it with a smear of her blood. Through bored breaths she finds the strength to speak, the world already darkening around her peripheral vision. "It's alright. This... this was the only way, right?" Another pained chuckle, every push of breath reminding her of the deep gash on her stomach. Though she persists a vestige of her smile, ironically the healthier of the two required much more consoling than herself. "I haven't felt this vivid in years." She settles into the arms of the other, eerily comfortable in her position, having long accepted what was to come. Too tired to fight it, maybe even welcoming it at this point.
"I don't..." An instinctual nudge of her head into the palm, while one eye was covered the other still had a tear flow downwards. Her own hand finding theirs against her cheek, the hand much colder within her own. Reality's weight only growing atop her shoulders as more of her tears begin to flow.
The other woman only grows in her comfort, id in an ever expanding pool of her own blood now. Her eyes close momentarily, its occurrence alone getting a silent gasp from her murderer tightly holding her. Though they open again, a thankful smile complementing them as she continues. "We had a... good run, doll." A groan interrupts her, the confidence in her smile disappearing if only for a second. "...Des- despite it all, right?" Her eyes seek her murderer's again, having gotten glossier due to tears barely held back. "Hey... don't cry. I hate to see you sad, you know?"
A sniffle and a whimper from the blonde, a squint of her eyes giving her a split moment to calm her nerves. Tears subside, and a mess of a smile is returned from the azure eyed woman. One would think she was grimacing instead, though the other in her arms did not seem to care, only amused by their attempt. "We'll meet again, won't we?" She mumbles, her spoken words visibly putting strain on her weak body. "Not now, obviously... not in this life, anymore." A chuckle to her own joke, a wheeze following afterwards with her lungs failing to sustain the rest of the body. Much of its other colleagues had long halted their efforts.
"I know my heart will find yours."
"And we'll finally see the stars together."
One more exhale as lids shut over her eyes, her head leaning against her murderer as her bleeding coincidentally comes to a halt. A sole murderer remained in the room now, its busted roof taking in the heavy rain inside. The pool of blood that sullied both their clothes was already being washed off the floor. Though she remained, holding onto the empty vessel that only got colder to hold against herself. Her form hunches down, holding onto the vessel closer, finding a spot on their chest to rest her head on. Many things had occurred in the room she was kneeling inside of, betrayal, tragedy, sorrow, longing and now, only loss remained.
