Chapter 21: The Frontlines

Hariko's S2 fgship began orbital bombardment upon the newly arriving enemy forces.

Hariko Lee nodded at Sue Lee's directive, signaling his forces to press forward. The Wasp General’s sharp, insect-like wings glistened under the sun as she led her remaining troops toward the northern nds. Behind them, Hariko's S2 fgship hovered ominously, its turrets still hot from the recent bombardment. The Hornet Tribe had suffered a crushing blow, but the real battle was yet to come.

Hariko Lee: "Prepare the dropships, Morrigan. We need to strike fast and hit harder this time. The Hornets won’t just sit back after that attack."

Morrigan: "Understood. The Imperial Marines are ready, and the Sisters of Faith are already loading into the pods. We’ll hit their fortresses by nightfall."

Hariko reviewed the strategy one st time, his mind racing with calcutions. The Hornet Tribe’s stronghold y deep within the northern forests, surrounded by dense foliage and swarms of hostile units. A direct assault would be met with fierce resistance, but with the support of the Wasp soldiers and their S2 ships, the advantage was on their side.

As the dropships roared to life, Hariko felt the weight of responsibility pressing down on him. This mission wasn’t just about defeating the Hornet Tribe; it was about solidifying the alliance with Queen Lue Wang. If they succeeded, the Wasp Queen would join them, and her people’s strength would bolster their ranks. If they failed, the alliance would crumble before it could even begin.

Inside the dropships, the Imperial Marines, cd in their newly supplied power armor, sat in silence, their weapons primed for the upcoming conflict. Morrigan, standing beside Hariko, wore a grim expression.

Morrigan: "You think the Queen’s testing us?"

Hariko Lee: "Without a doubt. She wants to see if we’re worthy allies or just another group trying to use her people for power. We can’t afford to disappoint her."

The dropships descended into the northern forest, and the smell of burning foliage mixed with the distant sounds of battle reached their senses. Hariko could see the fshes of light from the Hornet fortresses in the distance. The ground trembled beneath them as they neared the nding zone.

Hariko Lee: "This is it. Prepare for deployment."

As the dropships touched down, the Imperial Marines stormed out, weapons drawn and ready for combat. Morrigan signaled the fleet to provide air support as they pushed through the forest toward the heart of the Hornet stronghold. The dense trees provided cover, but the enemy was everywhere, their wings buzzing through the air like thunder.

Sue Lee and her Wasp soldiers flew above, engaging in aerial battles with swarms of Hornet warriors. The sky was a chaotic mix of stingers, spears, and bolts of energy from Hariko’s forces.

Suddenly, a powerful figure emerged from the trees—a towering Hornet general, her bck and gold armor gleaming in the moonlight. She wielded a massive spear, her wings thrumming with power.

Hornet General: "So, you’re the outsiders who dare to interfere with our tribe."

Hariko Lee stepped forward, his voice steady. "I’m Hariko Lee of the Imperial Marines. We’ve come to end your raids and bring peace to this nd."

The Hornet General sneered, raising her spear. "Peace? You bring nothing but destruction. You will fall, just like the others who tried to challenge us."

Without warning, she lunged at Hariko, her spear aimed directly at his heart. Hariko sidestepped, his power armour whirring as he moved with inhuman speed. Drawing his own weapon, he parried her attack and countered with a powerful strike.

The battle erupted into chaos as both sides cshed with ferocity. Hariko's Marines fought with precision, while the Hornets fought with primal rage. Morrigan led a squad of Sisters of Faith into the fray, their energy weapons cutting through the enemy forces with ease.

As the fight raged on, Hariko and the Hornet General locked into a deadly duel, each strike resonating with the force of titans. Sparks flew as their weapons cshed, and the forest around them became a war zone of fire and debris.

Hariko Lee: "You’re strong, but this fight ends now!"

With a powerful surge, Hariko disarmed the Hornet General, sending her spear flying into the distance. He pointed his bde at her chest, ready to deliver the final blow.

Hariko Lee: "Surrender, and I promise your people will be spared."

The Hornet General, breathing heavily, gred at him. "I will never submit to you, outsider."

But before she could make her final move, Sue Lee swooped down from above, nding beside Hariko.

Sue Lee: "Your tribe is broken. It’s over."

The Hornet General gnced around, seeing her forces decimated by Hariko’s Marines and Sue’s Wasp soldiers. Her wings fluttered weakly as she dropped to her knees.

Hornet General: "Then do what you must. End it."

Hariko Lee hesitated, then sheathed his weapon. "No. We’re not here to sughter. We’re here to forge alliances."

He signalled to Morrigan, who immediately called for the remaining Hornet soldiers to be taken prisoner. As the sun began to rise over the battlefield, the Hornet Tribe’s stronghold had fallen, and their forces y in defeat.

Hariko Lee turned to Sue Lee, his expression resolute.

Hariko Lee: "Send word to Queen Lue Wang. The northern threat is neutralized. It’s time for her to decide."

Sue Lee nodded, taking flight to deliver the message.

As Hariko’s forces regrouped and the Hornet prisoners were gathered, he couldn’t help but feel the weight of the next steps. The alliance with the Wasp Queen was within reach, but the true challenge was yet to come—uniting these once warring tribes into a force capable of dominating the stars.

And Hariko Lee would ensure they were ready.

Hariko Lee:" Begin the final advance due north."

Hariko Lee and his forces entered the dropships and began regrouping for the final battle with the Hornet forces.
