Chapter 11 – Dragon’s lifestyle

For the past month, my daily routine has revolved around hunting, eating, and sleeping.

Sleeping is natural for dragons. In fictional stories, they are often portrayed as zy and drowsy, and I’ve come to understand why.

Dragons see themselves as omnipotent beings, gaining strength simply by existing. This mindset leads them to believe that there's no need to exert effort when power comes naturally.

However, I dismiss this as nothing more than an excuse for ziness.

Thankfully, I still hold on to my human side. Even after becoming a dragon, I refuse to adopt their habits. Instead, I choose to follow my human ways—valuing hard work and the pursuit of knowledge. After all, they say knowledge is supreme when put to use.

When searching for food for the past month in the vast forest, I’ve uncovered several intriguing discoveries.

The first mystery I solved was why I couldn't find any mushrooms or edible pnts. It turns out that they are the preferred food of the deer I first encountered—the one that managed to escape me. These deer have an incredibly sharp sense for locating edible pnts and fungi throughout the forest.

Besides the deer, another culprit behind the scarcity of edible pnts is the horned rabbit. These small, adorable creatures roam the forest in groups, devouring much of the avaible vegetation.

I barely avoided getting impaled—these creatures are truly terrifying. They lunge at their target with incredible speed, their sharp horns poised to strike. I didn’t even need to wonder if my body could withstand such an attack; watching a single one topple a tree was enough to know the answer. Despite their danger, I still managed to secure a few as food.

Then there's the monster boar I faced. Unlike the monster boar i have killed, I have yet to encounter another of its massive size. It’s possible that such enormous boars are rare, or perhaps none of the others have evolved to that stage yet. That remains my theory.

  Spsh! Spsh!

Right now, I’m soaking in a river, enjoying a refreshing bath. Even after becoming a dragon, I still value hygiene. The mere thought of not bathing feels uncomfortable. This habit has become so deeply ingrained in my mind and body that I follow it instinctively, without even thinking.

As I gazed down at the river, my reflection appeared on the water's surface, partially obscured by my submerged body. In less than two months since my birth, I’ve already grown—not significantly, but enough to notice. I now stand at three feet and four inches, though if I were to rise on two legs, I might reach the height of an average human. However, standing that way feels unnatural to me, as my body wasn’t designed for it.

"That was refreshing," I muttered in satisfaction.

After finishing my bath, I decided to head back toward my dwelling.

Moments ter, upon arriving at my destination, a devastating scene unfolded before me. Trees had been cut down—some bearing deep cw marks, others toppled over, and some neatly sliced as if by a bde. Scattered debris littered the area, with rocks reduced to rubble. Scorched earth marked the nd, a clear sign that intense heat had been the cause of the destruction.

The area was in complete ruins, as if an intense battle had raged here.

"I guess I made a mess, huh?" I muttered, feeling a bit embarrassed.

That’s right—this entire scene was my doing.

When I woke up this morning, I decided to train, pushing myself to understand and familiarize myself with my abilities. The next time I face an opponent, I want to take it down with ease. From a dragon’s perspective, this kind of hard work might seem strange. They might even call me an odd dragon since they are born with an innate talent for domination.

But to me, hard work is a gem—rare, valuable, and capable of shaping me into something greater. Like a rough stone refined by pressure and time, perseverance turns effort into success.

"Talent and luck may give me an edge, but it's hard work that truly polishes potential into brilliance."

This knowledge comes from my world. Though I may express it in my own way, its meaning remains unchanged.

  Rumble

My stomach growled, reminding me of my hunger.

It’s no surprise—I pushed myself through an intense training session, depleting both my physical and magical energy.

Fortunately, I no longer have to worry about going hungry, as I’ve prepared food in advance for times like this.

And its starting to turn dark.

Wasting no time, I entered my dwelling to cook. I stacked firewood in the usual spot, arranging it into a campfire shape before igniting it with my fire breath.

I call this ability Fire Breath, a skill I developed through practice while honing control over my dragon's breath.

[Fire Breath] – This ability functions simirly to a fmethrower, releasing a continuous stream of intense heat capable of incinerating targets, melting metal, and scorching the environment.

[Dragon’s Breath] – A powerful technique that unleashes a concentrated sphere of fire. Upon impact, it erupts into a massive explosion, generating immense heat and destructive force, capable of reducing anything within its bst radius to ashes.

This expins the difference between my two learned abilities.

After finishing my preparations, I took the meat from the creatures I had hunted and began grilling it. Once I deemed it cooked, I devoured it to satisfy my grumbling stomach.

"I guess I should start hunting for some seasonings next time," I muttered.

The fvor still felt cking, so I decided that my next goal would be to search for seasonings in the forest.

With my hunger satisfied, drowsiness crept in. The exhaustion from my intense training, combined with a full stomach, made me even sleepier.

Curling up into a comfortable position, I let myself drift into dreamnd.
