As they leave the house, they can see a rge crowd gathering in the center of the vilge, just down the road. Elder Fu can be seen standing on a wooden ptform, fellow vilgers standing around him, watching curiously. Everyone is waiting for Han Xi and the others to arrive, for the announcements to begin.

  Elder Fu notices their approach, and gestures them to join him on the ptform. “Everyone, the reason I have gathered you here today is that this little fox; no, Miss Han Xi, has not only managed to single-handedly—. Err… single-pawedly defeat 2 frosthorn deer, many frost boar, but also defeated the Snowdrift Direwolf that has been pguing our vilge for years!!” Elder Fu procims to the crowd awkwardly, but enthusiastically.

  As Xu Hao and Han Xi stand on top of the ptform, the crowd gasps in complete shock, nearly beyond words. Xu Hao stands next to Elder Fu with Han Xi on his head, rightfully assuming her throne, looking at her subjects.

  Han Xi smiles smugly, a feeling of excitement rushes through her body. ‘Yes! Yes! Here it comes! It's time for the grand reveal, and to score perfect marks on the bonus challenge~!’

  The vilgers, naturally, would not disappoint her. Typically, an animal grade beast can be dispatched by any regur mortal without any cultivation potential. It is completely unheard of that an animal grade beast has the abilities to defeat a savage beast.

  The vilgers immediately deny the possibility that the Snowdrift Direwolf could have been sin.

  “What?! There is no way a mere animal grade could defeat a savage beast!” one vilger chimed in.

  “Yeah! There is no way that is possible, you must be mistaken.” another vilger says in agreement with the first.

  Elder Fu shakes his head and addresses their skepticism. “It is true! Xu Hao, please take out the bodies of today's hunt.” Elder Fu says, looking at Xu Hao.

  Xu Hao hesitantly opens his storage pouch, pcing the 11 bodies onto the ptform in front of him. The sight of the frost boars and the snowdrift direwolf being taken out of the storage pouch makes the entire crowd gasp once again, their faces going pale at the all too familiar sight of the direwolf. After processing what was presented to them, all the vilgers watching the announcement faint, dropping to the floor.

  Han Xi bursts out into hysterical ughter after watching everyone faint to the floor, nearly falling off of Xu Hao’s head. ‘AHAHAHA This is the kind of reaction I was hoping for! Come on, System, give me the good stuff!’

  Completely baffled by the system's reward, Han Xi’s eyes nearly bulge out of her head. ‘TEN THOUSAND YEAR WHAT?!’ Her body tenses up from the shock, finally falling off of Xu Hao’s head and smming into the ground. ‘Ouch!! Ugh… But seriously, this reward sounds way too amazing! How am I getting this from a medium difficulty quest?!’

  Xu Hao looks down at Han Xi, concerned for her well-being, already feeling panicked from watching everyone around him fall to the ground, including Lei Yue. ‘Miss Han Xi, are you ok?!’ He quickly picks her up and holds her in his arms, before running towards where Lei Yue had fainted. ‘Lei Yue!’

  Somewhere, in a much higher realm, a goddess giggles mischievously, watching Han Xi complete her first quest through what looks like a cloud of cosmic mist. “Hehehe. I must admit, you are quite amusing to watch, my little one. I’m sure you’ll find a way to make use of this gift soon~.”

  As Xu Hao shouts at and approaches Lei Yue, she starts to regain consciousness, along most of the other vilgers who had fallen to the ground. She looks up at Xu Hao groggily, “I’m fine, I’m fine.” Standing up slowly on her own, she looks around at the others getting back onto their feet. No one was prepared to witness what they had seen. It was simply unimaginable.

  Xu Hao stops in front of Lei Yue and lets out a relieved sigh, gd that everyone is ok, “Good, I was really worried for a moment. I wasn't expecting such a mess…”

  Lei Yue gres at him irritatedly and hits him on his head, hard. “What do you mean you weren't expecting such a mess?! You do understand what you just pulled out of that storage pouch, don’t you?! Or does your head also work as a storage pouch?! Stupid!” she yells in a fiery rage.

  Elder Fu shrinks back after seeing Lei Yue’s rage, nervously backing up towards the edge of the ptform. Right as he was about to back off the ptform, Lei Yue abruptly looks up and gres directly at him with murderous intent. “Do you think you are going to get away with this?! Xu Hao could have died!” She looks away solemnly for a moment, memories of her parent's deaths surfacing in her mind, before continuing her fierce scolding. “You are one of the few more experienced cultivators in this vilge. Instead of facing it head on, you should have focused on escaping and regrouping!” Lei Yue scorns Elder Fu harshly and firmly, concerned for Xu Hao’s wellbeing.

  Elder Fu sighs, and decides to stand his ground. “Please, Lei Yue, calm yourself. We did the best we could, and chose the option that would prioritize our safety. If we ran, we would have died. Instead of perishing, we won, all thanks to Miss Han Xi.”

  Lei Yue also sighs, calming herself down. What's done is done, and they were successful. What's important now, is celebrating their victory!

  Lei Yue’s body rexes and expression softens as she smiles towards Elder Fu gently. “I will decide to believe you. Thank you, Elder Fu and Miss Han Xi, for keeping him safe. Congratutions on your victory!”

  Everyone in the vilge starts to cheer for Elder Fu, Han Xi, and Xu Hao, haling them as heros. Even though Xu Hao doesn't really deserve it, considering he hid behind the trees the whole time.

  Elder Fu steps forward to the edge of the ptform and addresses Han Xi in front of the crowd. “Miss Han Xi, our victory today is only thanks to your mysterious, but incredible strength. Had it not been for you, we would have died.” Elder Fu cups his hands and bows earnestly to Han Xi, demonstrating his respect and admiration. “Which is why, Miss Han Xi, as the elder of Snowmere Vilge, I humbly request that you be our Guardian Beast.” After speaking these words, everyone in the vilge follows Elder Fu’s example by cupping their hands and bowing, including Lei Yue.

  ‘Oh, that's what this vilge is called. Wait, WHAT?!?! System, please expin! What does that mean?!’’ Han Xi’s expression turns into one of shock and awe.

  Without any hesitation, Han Xi aggressively nods her head, accepting the offer. So aggressively, it almost appeared desperate, causing a few people to giggle. ’YES! Obviously yes! What other answer could I possibly give?’

  Suddenly, Han Xi’s head is assaulted with intense pain. A headache so severe, it feels as if her skull is splitting in two. Her small body screams and writhes in agony as the divine ability is etched into her fragile soul. ‘AGHHHHHHHHH THIS HURTS!! WHAT’S GOING ON?!?!’

  Between screams, an image fshes through her mind, just for a moment. A woman with purple fox ears and tails staring into a mirror in a luxurious room. On her head, a crown with shimmering white and purple gems.

  “Miss Han Xi!” Xu Hao says worriedly, holding her close to him, making sure not to drop her.

  Everyone quickly gathers around Han Xi, concerned for her safety and wellbeing, unsure of what's causing her intense pain.

  After a few moments, the pain starts to die down, her body starting to feel normal again. Aside from the fact that she is currently being held so close Xu Hao’s chest, she is practically suffocating.

  She hits her tail against his crotch, trying to force him to let her go. Hitting only hard enough to make him yell with pain and drop her, nothing more. ‘Next time, put me on the ground, you idiot!’

  Xu Hao drops Han Xi and falls to the ground, writhing in pain and frothing at the mouth. His chances of having kids now significantly reduced.

  Han Xi looks at Xu Hao in horror, her jaw completely agape. ‘What the fuck, System?! I didn’t hit his head!!! How does that count?!’ She stumbles backwards, horrified at the amount of pain she inflicted on Xu Hao. ‘Shit! Shit! I am going to have to make this up to him somehow…’

  She approaches him apologetically, her tail between her legs and ears drooping downwards, and licked his hand as an apology. ‘I'm sorry, Little Perv. Even though you made me do it.’

  Xu Hao looks up at Han Xi with tears in his eyes from the pain. “Aw… Miss Han Xi, it’s ok, I know you didn't mean it.”

  But the thing he did not understand is she absolutely meant it! She just didn't intend for it to harm him this much.

  Elder Fu chuckles, seeing Xu Hao is such a miserable situation. “She really got you good, huh?” he says teasingly to Xu Hao.

  He chuckles back and responds. “It seems so, Elder Fu.” He turns his attention towards Lei Yue and begins to speak. “Let’s go back to the house for now. I need to rest a bit…”

  Lei Yue nods and helps Xu Hao back onto his feet. Xu Hao walks towards the direwolf and puts it back into his storage pouch. “We will be keeping the direwolf for Miss Han Xi. I hope that is acceptable?” Xu Hao says to Elder Fu.

  Elder Fu nods his head, accepting his terms. It was an easy decision, especially since it will provide precious nourishment for their honored guardian. “That is fine by me. Now, everyone! It is time we host a feast in the honor of our new guardian!”

  Xu Hao, Lei Yue, and Han Xi start walking back towards the house together. Behind them, the vilgers start a rge bonfire and begin to cook the frost boars, its fme radiating and brightening up the darkening scene as dusk nears its end. The nterns pced around the streets lighten the roadway home.

  Han Xi lets out a relieved sigh, exhausted from today's events. ‘It’s a good thing we are going home early instead of staying for the festivities. I’m sure it would be fun, but a lot happened today that I still haven't processed, and I need to go over everything. I haven't even seen the notifications from when I passed out after defeating the direwolf either.’
