Han Xi wakes up early, prior to anyone else in the house. She stretches her body on the pelt bed, letting out a sigh of relief. She stands up and decides to take a look around the house to pass the time.
‘I slept really well st night. This bed is amazing. These humans have treated me really well so far. I wonder if all humans are like this?’ Stopping in the kitchen to think for a moment, she sits down and ponders. ‘Come to think of it, I have no clue what most humans actually are like in this world. Deciding to go with Little Perv could have ended up really badly if he was a bad person. I should probably be more cautious going forward.’ Nodding her head in satisfaction, she stands back up and walks around the kitchen, observing her surroundings.
‘It sort of looks like everything in this kitchen was hand-made. I wonder if they made all of these themselves, or if there is someone in the vilge that does it for them? This vilge is really strange. I am supposed to be in an immortal realm, so why does everyone have such mediocre possessions? Do you have any ideas what might be going on here, System?’
[Based on what you have observed so far, it is highly likely that this family has low cultivation potential. Generally, in cultivation worlds, it can be said that the better cultivation you have, the more prosperous life you will lead. While you have not observed any other parts of the vilge, it's likely they are in a simir situation to this house.]
Han Xi nods her head in understanding. However, right as she was about to proceed looking around a bit more, the system decided to speak again.
[However, based on st night's events, the one known as Xu Hao is likely a different case compared to most other people in this vilge.]
Interested, she asks the system for further crification, ‘What do you mean, System?’
[After consuming the meat st night, Xu Hao expressed that he had a significant jump in strength. It was enough to accidentally injure himself. While the meat should have provided him an increase in his cultivation, it should not have been significant enough to provide such an increase in strength.]
Slightly surprised at her system's answer, she probs for even more information. ‘Is that so? What could have caused such a significant increase in strength?’
[The probable cause is a surge of Qi through his meridians as a result of the reinvigoration of his spiritual roots. The system meat has a mild meridian purification effect, capable of resolving only the most insignificant of impurities. Generally, such a weak effect would not have a notable impact on the impurities in one's body or their strength. If I am correct, this means that it purified just enough to allow some Qi from the meat to flow through his meridians, granting him a likely temporary boost in strength.]
Now feeling a little shocked, she replies again, ‘You're saying it may have purified just enough impurities? Are you implying there is likely still significant impurities in his meridians?’
[If I am correct, yes, there are likely still significant impurities. Meaning, his new power is just the beginning. Now that his spiritual roots have been reinvigorated, he is now capable of cultivating.]
‘Hmm… If I pn on making him into my personal chef in the future, it wouldn't hurt if he could also be my personal bodyguard, too. Is there any way I can help him clear the remainder of his impurities?’ she asks, hopeful to gain a strong ally.
[At the host’s current cultivation, it is not possible. However, if the host can find a pill that is capable of clearing the impurities, this may help him recover faster. We still ck a complete understanding of the kind of impurities that are impeding his cultivation. Knowing this would be a good first step in achieving your goal.]
She nods her head in understanding, now with a new goal in mind. ‘Alright, thank you, System. By the way, didn’t you say you are limited to knowledge regarding the system? How are you so knowledgeable about things like this?’
[You are correct host, I am indeed limited to system information, including information you have experienced. However, I am also able to reference the item [Guide to the Immortal World (Beginner)] in your system inventory. Utilizing this information, I made the most accurate deduction I am presently able to.]
‘You’re telling me you can just read my beginners guide for me and I don't have to read it myself?! You would have been a lifesaver during final exams! Wait, what even is final exams? Anyway, something seems a bit off about your expnation, but I can't seem to put my finger on it. Well, I suppose, paw on it.’ She thinks about it for a few minutes, but can not come up with a good expnation for this feeling she has. Deciding it's no longer worth the effort, she decides to move on to other things.
‘Anyway, on to more important things. I should update my stats, since I have stat and skill points avaible.’ Willing her status screen open, she reviews her current stats and points.

[colpse]Contempting what stats to increase, she reflects on her most recent battle. ‘During the battle with the deer, I became so exhausted I was barely able to move. I need to focus on raising my stamina stat a lot. I also feel like I might be too weak, so I think I’ll raise my strength stat as well. I'll put 10 stat points into stamina and 5 into strength.’ Tapping her paw on her system interface, she applies the stat points and feels good about her decision.
‘That should definitely help me during my next battle. Now what about skills?’ She wills the system shop open and starts looking for skills that will interface with her system well. ‘System said that it can interface with my skills. Maybe a skill that can detect other beings around me?’
Looking through the shop a little more, she finds what she is looking for. ‘Here it is! This skill should work.’

Confused, she decides to ask the obvious. ‘No joke this time, System?’ She waits for a response, but the system does not reply.
‘Ha! Looks like you have run out of jokes. I guess even your creativity has limits.’ Despite her mocking, the system still does not reply to her. ‘I hope I didn’t hurt its feelings too much. Does the System even have any feelings?’
“Good morning.” Xu Hao is the first to emerge from his room, rubbing his eyes. He looks around the kitchen groggily and see’s Han Xi sitting in the middle of it. He approaches her and squats down.
“How are you doing today, Miss Han Xi? I hope you slept well on your bed st night.” He looks down at her and giggles at her disheveled fur.
Han Xi nods her head and her eye twitches a little with irritation as he giggles at her. ‘You know, it would be really great if you stopped finding me so amusing.’
He pets her fur until it smooths out a bit, irritating her at first. As he continued petting her fur, she started to enjoy it a bit over time. ‘Seriously, he should really ask me first before petting me. But I suppose I will let this slide.’
“I have to go out and hunt for food now, Miss Han Xi. Would you like to join me?” he asks, picking her up. She nods and jumps onto his head. ‘Of course I’m going with you! You expect me to stay in this stuffy house all day? In fact, I hereby cim this head as my temporary throne. Now, forward, my servant!’
Han Xi points her paw forward, causing Xu Hao to giggle even more before breaking out into ughter. “What's this? Do you think I am your personal mode of transportation? Well, alright, you can stay there.”
“WILL YOU QUIET DOWN OUT THERE?!” Lei Yue screams from inside of her room. Xu Hao’s ughing must have woken her up.
Scared for his well-being, Xu Hao’s expression turns into a panic as he starts briskly walking towards the door. “S-Sorry, Lei Yue, I'm heading out!”
Xu Hao walks out the door and outside the house. It's early morning and the sun rising can be seen across the horizon, painting the sky a beautiful gradient of orange and blue. Xu Hao starts walking towards the entrance of the vilge slowly, enjoying the cold morning air as each breath becomes visible from the temperature. As he walks towards the entrance, several vilgers can be seen leaving their house as well, smiling and waving at Xu Hao. “Xu Hao, good morning! Wishing you success on today's hunt.” one vilger yells to Xu Hao.
“Thank you! I wish you well with yours as well.” he replies, now walking a little faster towards the gate, excited to get into the woods today. He walks out of the gate and waves at the guard, now heading down the path he walked through the day prior, and starts towards his camp.
Arriving at his camp, he lifts the fabric off of a mound that is next to his shelter, revealing a pile of dry wood. Reaching forward, he picks up some wood that has already been cut into perfect chunks, and pces them in the firepce.
“The first thing I do when I go hunting is set up a fire. Not only does it keep me warm, it can be used as a beacon in case I get lost in the surrounding forest.” Xu Hao expins to Han Xi diligently. “So if you are ever lost in the forest, look for my campfire. You might find another vilger's campfire as well, but most people in this vilge are good, honest people.”
Xu Hao sits down on his log next to the firepce and takes out a flint and steel. He strikes them together several times, causing sparks to fly towards the wood in the firepce. Eventually, the wood catches fire and the campfire emits a warm, enveloping heat.
“Most people in this vilge will not hurt you, as we have learned to respect nature. Now, if you were a deer, I couldn’t make such a promise. After all, we have to hunt our own food here.” he says, holding his hands towards the campfire.
Han Xi jumped off of his head and curled up next to the fire, enjoying its embracing warmth. “But don’t misunderstand me, humans in general are not your friends.”
This st statement causes Han Xi to raise her head curiously and look at Xu Hao. “While the people who live in this vilge are nice people, most humans are greedy. When they see an animal or beast, most will not consider them a friend. Rather, they will see them as a means to profit.”
Han Xi’s ears raise in concern, her little body trembling a bit. ‘So, I was right to be concerned yesterday. Humans really do want to kill me for my fur.’
Noticing the concerned Han Xi, he decides to try to comfort her. “As long as you remain around this vilge, you should be safe, Miss Han Xi. But if you do ever decide to leave one day, please be careful. Humans do desire foxes for their beautiful soft fur, but more often than that, they wish to poach them for their body.”
She shudders yet again, but decides that it's not worth worrying over right now and rexes in front of the fire. ‘I am really lucky I met Little Perv when I did, or I might have run into the wrong human and got captured. At least now I understand that humans are generally not my friends.’ she sighs, thinking about how she will improve her situation. ‘For now, I should just be focusing on leveling up and improving my beast grade. Thanks to my system, I should be able to protect myself a lot faster than if I didn't have it.’
