With those thoughts running around in their collective heads, JooHyun stood up. There was a nearly inaudible, unconscious gasp at her just standing up. She had that kind of face and figure.
And she knew it.
With a wicked grin, she sauntered over to the microphone. Three of them had never focused on her walk before. After all, they were mostly polite. You should maintain eye contact when talking, right? Still, JooHyun has that kind of walk. She had the ultimately sexy and feminine sort of walk that runway models would kill for. Twenty-five percent was how she looked while walking, the rest was just all her.
Normally she ignores how she walks and the effect that it has on people, but tonight she brought it out in full force. Mostly just to see what it would do to the girls. And to see if it had the desired effect. It did.
They were so entranced with the sway of her hips that they ignored the song loading.
She didn’t really much care for the song, nor the genre in fact. She just learned the song purely out of shock value. And if the girls were dumbfounded before, once the song started, they could have been knocked over with a feather. Not even Soo-young knew about this song that was chambered. All of them were shocked.
No one was expecting JooHyun to put out 80s hair metal. She started singing Doro Peche’s lines from Warlock’s song All We Are. Everyone in the room looked like it was full of 1960s cartoon characters and their jaws were on the floor. Even the manager, who was not even in the same room as them, was just as confused. More so because he didn’t know that they even had that song, let alone that sweet, tiny, self-effacing JooHyun could sing it. Especially since she could sing it so well.
No one else knew that this was the only song from the style of music that she knew and she only learned it for shock value. Hence the grin as she walked forward.
Against all odds, she actually did know the song. And knew it well. She was as dedicated to this prank as one could hope. She actually went to an English teacher to learn the lyrics. She nearly went so far as to learn a German accent for only this one song despite the lyrics being in English. JooHyun tended to be a perfectionist and it showed. She didn’t learn the accent because, it was at the end of the day, just a prank. And an exceptionally well executed prank, still just a prank. Even JooHyun had her limits on what she was willing to do for her shenanigans.
The look on all of the girl’s faces, including Soo-young’s, meant that her prank, which she has only used twice before, was done perfectly. Everyone’s brain was shut down.
Seeing no one stepping up for another song, she took her sweet time and chose another one. This one was much more practical. And local. Something a bit more in tune with what others thought that she might perform. She did this happy song called Octopus’s Garden by Ahn Ye Eun was very soothing for the fundamentally disturbed girls.
The girls were still trying to contend with the image and sound that just assaulted them. So, she chose a third song and started it. This was a mencholy love song called Je T'aime, and it was the same one that Soo-young was singing earlier in the restaurant. This time, however, it was being done in an extremely sarcastic way. She was trying to poke her into ‘waking up’.
And it worked.
“HEY!” was all she got, but someone finally said something.
That was followed by “That’s my song!” – it wasn’t, but whatever. It did get the desired effect and woke them all back up. More or less. She hoped. She started to think she may have gone too far for Katie as she seemed still short-circuited.
What she was not aware of was that the first shot in the epic prank wars was just fired and Katie was actually revising her pns upwards. This was going to be legendary.
Once the avanche started by the rest, the verbal tirade would not be stopped. There were a lot of things being said, all at the same time, and it meant nothing at all. Just a very, very smug smile on JooHyun’s face as she leaned back against the wall.
This had the exact results that she wanted and almost everyone got angry at her smug, overbearing attitude. The only one not angry at her was the manager because he was on the other side of the door and could not see her. Otherwise, he might have joined in the lynching despite not being an officially invited member of it.
To make it worse, this tiny voice rabbit started ughing. A huge, golden, whooping, crystal clear ughter shook them all, including the manager who was still listening for some unknown reason, to their fundament.
It was at this time that Katie got up and started attacking the older woman. Even while in the throes of ughter, she still managed to fend off the slighter and younger woman. This made the ughter even worse.
At this point, Seulgi woke up. She nudged Wendy to pull Katie off JooHyun. Not that Katie was actually able to hurt her, nor was she really trying. More like a little sister trying to beat on her older sister, and failing. Still, it is not proper to do this in public. Even if it was completely deserved. And everyone agreed, even JooHyun agreed, that she deserved it.
All of the girls got drinks, had a few snacks, and got themselves back under control. Even the manager finally got back to work, after being literally kicked in the butt by one of his male staff.
Once everyone was back in a calm body, mind, and soul, JooHyun began to speak.
