Mariana: Chapter 2

The Party has entered the false bottom and sees strange plants and creatures living inside, including stray Meraki hunters.

Sissinoe: Looks like some of my people call this place home

Aoenen: I wonder if any of ours call this place home?

Neve: Maybe they do, but we probably won’t find them

Atoll: It looks like there might even be Oxygen down here

Aoenen: Keep your suits on anyway, you might get a nasty disease

  Neve: That makes sense

Atoll: Alright, let’s find Sinners Sextant

  Begin False Bottom #1

When The Party is 15% through False Bottom #1, they run into someone else without a diving suit

Atoll (Narration): The shock of who we saw under the bottom was deep, as we had come across a pioneer lost to time

Illinois: So, what are you kids doing under the Mariana Trench?

  Atoll: Illinois Aeryuat!!

  Illinois: Hehe, that’s me

Neve: But you went missing back in the 1970s?

Illinois: I did yeah, but time is no object to me

Atoll: You look way older than you were when you disappeared

Illinois: Well no duh like 50 years passed by, I’m probably 80 years old no wonder I look old

Aoenen: I had not heard of such a remarkable missing adventurer

Neve: You grew up in the Nightlands of course you didn’t know

Sissinoe: It is an honor to meet you Ms Aeryuat

Illinois: The honor is all mine, now you kids want to tell me what you’re doing at the bottom of the ocean?

Atoll: We wanted to go here, mainly to do what you were declared dead doing but also we saw some bad guys called The Sinners Sextant down here and we want to know what they’re up to

Neve: More or less how it went

Illinois: So you came looking for me and those invading Centennials, looks like

Sissinoe: And me and Aoenen came along for fun

Aoenen: I bought the submarine that took us down here?

Illinois: Well if you want to fight against the “Sinners Sextant” as you call it, they are no chumps, I’ve fought against all matters of powerful foes, including the legendary Acantha, and none have given me this much trouble.

  Atoll: You fought Acantha?

  Illinois: Yeah I did

Atoll: I fought her as well looks like we have a lot in common

  Illinois: Oh that’s neat

Sissinoe: As much as I enjoy small talk, we should get going

Aoenen: That is true, lead the way Illinois

  Illinois: Sure thing travelers

  Neve: This is pretty cool

Atoll (Narration): The endeavor we had found ourselves in was that of one where we were frankly out of our depth for, but being the eager warriors we were, we charged in there without hesitation.

  Resume False Bottom #1

  When you’re at 30% completion

Illinois: So, The Sextatnt down here are working for someone mysterious I have never seen before?

Atoll: What was so mysterious about them?

  Stolen novel; please report.

Illinois: They felt ancient, primordial, the kind of aura only emitted from someone with power

Neve: Like, some sort of dietetic desire

Aoenen: Like a living god of sorts?

  Sissinoe: Sounds, powerful and mysterious

Illinois: I’m just warning you kids to prepare for a foe you may not be able to contend with

  Resume False Bottom #1

  When you’re at 45% completion

Sissinoe: This hidden world is quite beautiful, almost as beautiful as the fleeting gaze of a life

Neve: Atoll why did you recruit this weirdo

  Sissinoe: I’m a weirdo

Atoll: Listen, Sissinoe is a friend of mine, and she’s knowledgeable, it made sense to bring her along

Aoenen: You could have just asked for a double date

Sissinoe: You’ve got a real strange mind

Aoenen: YOU’VE GOT A REAL STRANGE MIND

Illinois: I wonder if my kids are like this with their friends

  Atoll: You have kids??

Illinois: Well I look after them down here, they’re not mine biologically speaking

Atoll (Narration): Sissinoe was someone I admired for their strange demeanor yet being such a competent force, she was also my age, and…well you get the idea. She wasn’t the most qualified girl in the world, but she would be a surefire bet to come along with us

  Resume

When you’re at 60% completion , a figure high up in the Sinners Sextant approaches the party

  Kieghan: Hello Illinois

  Illinois: Hello Sextant

  Kieghan: Who are the tag-alongs?

  Neve: Tag-alongs?

Kieghan: Yeah I’m talking about you

Atoll: My name is Atoll and she is Neve, we’re here on Century Corps business

  Sissinoe: We are?

  Aoenen: Just go with it

Kieghan: Oh I didn’t know the Century Corps caught onto us

  Illinois: Century Corps…oh Acantha’s guild

Kieghan: Yeah, now please step aside, our client is busy with some more important matters and I’d like to leave them undisturbed

Atoll: What does your client require down here?

Kieghan: I do not know, but I must force you to turn around

Neve: We’re here to see this world for ourselves, you have no place telling us to leave

  Aoenen: You tell them Neve

Sissinoe: Our excursion shall not be delayed by someone only in it for a bag like you

  Kieghan: Don’t say I didn’t warn you

Fight against Kieghan and The Sinners Sextant

  When Kieghan is at 75%

Kieghan: So, why are you Century Corps kooks even down here in the first place if it had nothing to do with us

Atoll: I wanted to see everything this world had to offer

Kieghan: How noble or how naive

Neve: You really are a piece of work

  Aoenen: Yeah, quite a prick

Sissinoe: You seem pretty prickish yourself Aoenen

Aoenen: It must be my refined manners

Sissinoe: It’s not that, I just sense a strange aura from you

Atoll (Narration): Aoenen was really someone that you kind of had an odd feeling about, even before you really knew him. You could kinda tell, the way he flaunted his status and heritage, that he thought himself above some others. I probably should have caught onto his true nature earlier

  Resume

  When Kieghan is at 50%

Illinois: Do you have any regrets?

Kieghan: No, I have no regrets

Illinois: If you were to die, right here and now, you would have no regrets

  Kieghan: Absolutely not

Atoll: I respect your commitment to yourself and your actions

Kieghan: What’s the phrase you humans use, “I’m my own man”

  Resume

  When Kieghan is at 25%

Neve: I do not like you

Kieghan: That makes sense, of course you would not like your enemies

Aoenen: When you put it like that it’s a no brainer

Neve: Me and Aoenen sure don’t like our enemies

Atoll (Narration): Aoenen and Neve really did not like their enemies and their later encounter with Kieghan after this expedition really shows.

  Resume

When Kieghan is defeated, they are knocked down against the seafloor and the party moves on

  Illinois: Great work kiddos

  Atoll: It’s all in a day's work

  Neve: You bet it

Sissinoe: I suspected my combat abilities would not be as good as my intellectual abilities, I was happy to be proven wrong

Aoenen: I’m still not the best at this

Neve: That’s ok Aoenen, we can protect you

Illinois: Let’s continue our journey, the client must not be too far ahead

  Resume False Bottom #1

When you’re at 75% completion, the party can begin to see what looks like a large metal sphere

Neve: What the hell is that?

Illinois: What the Sextant were protecting?

  Aoenen: It’s huge

Atoll: Without a doubt it’s large

Sissinoe: I have a strange feeling about what we’re about to come into contact with

  Resume False Bottom #1

When you’re at 90% completion, the large sphere looks even bigger, they can hear strange whirring

Atoll: Oh my god, look at that

  Illinois: Who is doing this?

Neve: I think we might have been meant to come down here

Aoenen: What do you mean by that?

Neve: Do you really think Illinois could have made it here alone?

  Illinois: Hey…probably not

Sissinoe: I get what you mean…

  Resume False Bottom #1

When you are complete the course, the Party enters the metal structure

Atoll (Narration): The structure the Sinners Sextant was guarding was something strange, a jumbling of wires and steam, like a weird machine, grinding and coming together and apart all at once. And that the center of this sphere was a watery center, a strange thing that seemed to leave it. One thing about this sphere was it appears to be built into the bottom of this false bottom.

  Illinois: What is this place

Strange Figure: So you’ve made it all the way here, looks like you deserve to know

A strange armored Centennial walks forward

Pandora: My name is Pandora, an immortal soul, I was made to guard the evils of the world that were in a box, forged in the Garden of Eden. My connection to the past is all but gone as I’m far removed from everything else that made me real

  Neve: The Garden of Eden?

Pandora: The Garden of Eden is a lost paradise unknown to us, one that was lost long ago

  Sissinoe: That place is real

  Aoenen: Fascinating

Atoll: Ok Pandora, what is it you want here?

Pandora: I’m going to seek out the one thing that has remained constant since my creation, this place I made out of wires, metal and memory will help me achieve my goals

The Party begins ready for yet another battle as Pandora begins to approach them

Atoll (Narration): We were too far gone and were now about to face off against an enemy, one with absurd amounts of power and strength far above what we could muster on our own. It truly felt like we had stepped into a hopeless battle.
